BEA: New FDI Data for 2023

The Bureau of Economic Analysis of the US Department of Commerce has published current Foreign Direct Investments for 2023. German companies’ investment grew to 658 billion USD. This makes Germany the third largest direct investor in the US behind Japan (783billion USD) and Canada (750 billion USD).

German direct investments in the manufacturing sector amounts to 303 billion USD, around 10 billion USD more than the previous year. This makes German companies the third largest foreign direct investors in manufacturing in the USA. More information and all of the interactive tables can be found here.
