This RGIT Special Report examines recent climate change and energy efficiency developments in the United States involving the White House, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and the National Association of Insurance Commisssioners. The analysis highlights information of relevance to companies.

2nd German-American Energy Conference
On March 22-23, 2010, more than 300 attendees learned how German companies can compete in the U.S. market for renewable energies, energy efficiency, and environmental technologies. The conference was organized by the German Energy Agency GmbH (dena) and the German American Chambers of Commerce (AHK USA) with support from the DIHK and the BDI. David Campbell, RGIT Director of Trade Policy, spoke at the conference on the development of renewable portfolio standards (RPS) and renewable electricity standards (RES) in the U.S. He also discussed the RGIT Special Report “Climate Change and Energy Efficiency: Recent Decisions and Regulatory Developments under the Obama Administration. Submission from the Federation of German Industries (BDI) Response to the Request for Comments on the Priorities for the Transatlantic Innovation Dialogue published in the Federal Register on December 31, 2009 (Vol. 74, No. 250). The Federation of German Industries (BDI) welcomes the opportunity to comment on the priorities for the Innovation Dialogue. Innovation can generate economic growth, productivity and entrepreneurship, thereby creating jobs. German industry stands ready to engage robustly with the Dialogue and the other stakeholders once the agenda and work program have been set.
