The Future of Advanced Manufacturing in the United States


On June 14, RGIT and the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) organized a joint event on "The Future of Advanced Manufacturing in the United States". RGIT President and CEO Daniel Andrich emphasized that out of the 674,000 jobs created by German Subsidiaries in the US, almost half accounted in the industrial sector.

Deputy Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing at the Department of Commerce, Ian Steff, BDI CEO, Dr. Joachim Lang and ITI President & CEO Dean Garfield as well business representatives from Wittenstein, Microsoft and Honeywell were among the speakers.

The discussions primarily focused on the setting of international standards, the need for well-trained professionals and open markets. Transatlantic cooperation was stressed as key factor in successfully managing the opportunities and challenges of the digital transformation.
