On April 3rd, the Representative of German Industry and Trade (RGIT) hosted a lively roundtable discussion with a group of European energy professionals led by Dr. Georg Schütte, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and Holger Lösch, Deputy Director General Executive Board, Federation of German Industries (BDI). The delegation exchanged perspectives on US energy, climate, and innovation policy with a group of American energy experts from a broad cross-section of the political spectrum. The discussion was opened by Freya Lemcke, Vice President of RGIT. The roundtable discussed the prospects for US and international energy and climate policy, and potential effects on the energy markets.
The delegation included representatives of German industry, the German federal government, research institutions, and in media. Experts in US energy policy from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the Heritage Foundation, the US Chamber of Commerce, and the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) met with the delegation to exchange their views.
