Member associations of the BDI hold political discussions in Washington DC

The Federation of German Industries (BDI), accompanied by member associations, led a high-level delegation of executives that visited Washington DC. The delegation was headed by BDI President Dieter Kempf. Participants included the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA), the Chemical Industry Association (VCI), the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (ZVEI), along with company representatives.

The trip aimed to highlight the importance of German industry in the US, as well as to strengthen relationships with American political and economic decision-makers within a transatlantic context. In addition to appointments on Capitol Hill, high-level talks were held at the US Department of Commerce (DOC), the US Chamber of Commerce and the National Governors Association. Daniel Andrich, President and CEO of the Representative of German Industry and Trade (RGIT) in Washington, along with German Ambassador Peter Wittig, gave the delegation an introductory overview of the overall economic and political situation in the USA.
