Finance Committee of German Bundestag visits RGIT


As part of their travel to the U.S., the Finance Committee of the German Bundestag led by Manfred Zoellmer (SPD) visited RGIT on July 7. In addition to the current fiscal situation of the United States, the Committee was also briefed on the American perspective of the Greek debt crisis and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). Alongside Dr. Thomas Zielke, Representative of the German Industry and Trade, J.D. Foster from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Alexander Privitera, senior fellow at the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS), as well as Peter Lefkin, ‎senior vice president at Allianz of America informed the members of the German parliament about recent developments in the USA.. Moreover, legislative initiatives for the Internet of Things, which is gaining an increasing importance in the U.S., aroused the committee’s interest.
