Delegation of the German Bundestag visits RGIT


As part of their travel to the U.S., members of the Budgets Committee of the German Bundestag visited the office of the Representative of German Industry and Trade (RGIT) on May 24. The delegation was briefed by the Representative Dr. Thomas Zielke on the current economic climate in the United States.

The Committee also spoke to representatives of BASF, Lockheed Martin and DHL on non-tariff trade barriers, new investment plans, the general political situation, as well as the increasing leadership role of German companies fostering vocational training programs in the U.S.

The delegation visiting in Washington was comprised of committee chairperson Dr. Gesine Lötzsch (Die Linke), Eckhardt Rehberg (CDU/CSU), Johannes Kahrs (SPD), Roland Claus (Die Linke), Dr. Tobias Lindner (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen), as well as committee secretary Christian Majewski.
