Business opportunities – World Bank invests in urban development

14 participants from Germany and Austria participated in a joint fact finding mission to the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). The objective of the three-day program (1/19 – 1/22/2015) was to learn more about business opportunities with these institutions. The program focused on urban development. The participants had the opportunity to interact with the project managers and learn more about the procurement procedures in greater detail.

In FY 2014, the World Bank alone has invested over $ 4.5 billion in the urban development sector. That is 11% of its total lending volume. The Bank’s urban projects in developing and emerging countries cover topics such as waste management, transport, housing, Smart Cities, and sustainability. The event was jointly organized by RGIT and Advantage Austria. For more information click here.
