What We Do
- RGIT represents the interests of German industry vis-ŕ-vis the U.S. administration and maintains close ties to the international organizations located in Washington, D.C., in particular the Word Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
- RGIT reports regularly to BDI and DIHK and their associated companies on U.S. legislation and regulatory activities as well as on key developments concerning U.S. economic and trade policies.
- RGIT conveys to the partners of German business in Washington, D.C., information regarding German economic and trade relations with the United States, the positions of the German business community concerning topical trade and economic issues as well as sector-specific and regional developments relevant to both countries.
- RGIT provides data concerning economic developments and the economic environment in Germany.
- RGIT offers information regarding U.S. legislative and regulatory activities that are relevant to the business community. For inquiries about business contacts, RGIT acts as a helpful guide and cooperates closely with the German American Chambers of Commerce.
The office was established in 1988. It is supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology within its foreign trade promotion programs.
Legal Interns and Interns: Please be advised that due to limited space we can not accept further applications trough December 2011. However, we do accept applications starting January 2012 and later. German legal interns (Referendare) can undergo part of their practical training (Wahlstation) at RGIT. To the extent that space is available, the office also takes in other qualified interns who have completed their basic course of studies, preferably in economics or related fields.
