U.S. subsidiaries of German-owned firms play a vital role in the U.S. economy, with competitive German businesses contributing to the economic health and prosperity of the American economy. These subsidiaries create jobs for American workers.
German affiliates support more than 672,000 American jobs in the U.S., which accounts about 10.5% of the 6.4 million jobs created by foreign affiliates. By the end of 2015 German investment reached a total of about $255 billion, with German companies being the 3rd-largest foreign employer in the U.S.
